Alpha is a place to explore the Christian faith with others.

It is a low-pressure environment to discuss the big questions in life.
Every Alpha session has three key ingredients: food, talk, and discussion. So what does that look like?

  • Food – Alpha is relational. And nothing builds relationships like sharing food together. Each Alpha session starts with a meal.
  • Talk – Every week there is a talk delivered in video that explores the basics of the Christian faith.
  • Discussion – After the talk is a time of discussion in small groups where guests can share their thoughts and questions.

Alpha is run all over the world.
In 2018, 1.3 million people tried Alpha, in over 100 countries.

FAQ’s

What happens at Alpha?

First off, you’ll meet great people. Members of our church are there to facilitate faith conversations. You’ll end up at a round table with 6-10 other people.

Second, you’ll eat good food. We provide a meal each week from local vendors. Christianity is best explored and experienced in community. Sharing a meal was a consistent feature of the Lord Himself. Jesus made a habit of eating with people.

Third, we’ll watch a film series together. Alpha consists of multiple sessions of engaging short films. Each session explores a specific aspect of the Christian faith. The films are around 25 minutes each.

Then, we have a time of discussion. Participants are able to share their thoughts about the concepts in the video. Facilitators are there to guide the discussion. The hope is that you are able to ask questions and listen and learn from others. No one is there to preach. No one is there to force their opinions on others.

Is there anything else I need to do (is there a workbook or homework)?

Everything you need to know happens during our time together. There is no workbook or homework for you to complete.

What does it cost?

It’s free. We offer Alpha free of cost. As a church, we are committed to creating environments where people can explore the faith. Come have dinner on us.

Do I need to register?

Registrations help our team with planning. We coordinate these meals for the alpha participants and the other groups that are meeting that night. It helps our team to know how much food we need.

But, if you’re uncertain, we’d prefer for you to just show up. We always order a little extra.

Do I have to make every session?

We think you’ll really enjoy and benefit from every session. But, we know schedules can be crazy. You don’t have to be at every session to benefit from Alpha. Come when you can.

Is there childcare available?

Our kid’s team is making childcare available for children up to grade 5.

Is there anything for my teen?

Yes. During the same time, there is a group for students in grades 6-12. Learn more here.
