Rooted is a 10-week small group experience designed to connect you to God, the church, and your purpose. Together, in a group of 8-12 people from all walks of life, you’ll explore the Bible, engage in prayer and serve experiences, share stories, and practice rhythms essential to a healthy spiritual life. These spiritual rhythms aren’t new, or something the church recently created, every one of them is found in the early church in Acts 2. We will provide you with a facilitator who is trained to come alongside your group to help you get the most out of the experience.
Throughout the rooted experience, you’ll engage with several spiritual practices (rhythms) that will help you grow spiritually. Your workbook, along with your facilitators, will help you both learn and practice these rhythms.
Each Sunday, starting September 18th and ending November 20th, you will gather with others from Park City Church to learn and discuss in small groups led by group facilitators. The 7 rhythms that will be presented and practiced over the 10 weeks are: Daily Devotion, Prayer, Repentance, Sacrificial Giving, Serve the Community, Share Your Story, Worship.
Sundays | 11:30am-1:30pm | At the Building
September 18th — November 20th
Each week, lunch and childcare will be provided.
Cost: $40 per adult (this includes the cost of the workbook). When you register, you will be prompted to pay; however, if you are in need of a scholarship, partial and full scholarships are available.
Why do I need to register?
Registering helps our team plan out the experience. We need to ensure that we have food arranged for all participants. We also have to order the workbooks and shipping speeds are delayed right now. The sooner you register, the easier it is on our planning team.
Why does it cost so much?
The $40 per person helps us to offset the cost of meals, materials, and childcare. Plus, we want each participant to have buy-in. If money is an issue, we have partial and full scholarships available. Simply start the registration process and insert “partial” or “full” in the discount section – no questions asked!
What if I have a food allergy or dietary restrictions?
Please let our team know so that we can work to provide appropriate meal options for you and your family.
Is it possible to attend with people I know?
There is a spot on the registration form to indicate the individuals you’d like to be placed with.
Do I have to attend each week?
We would strongly encourage you to attend every session. We understand that life is busy and you may have some scheduling conflicts. Nonetheless, it is important to preserve the integrity of each group. Your attendance really does matter.
What does childcare entail?
The children will be supervised by a Rooted Childcare Coordinator along with several teens and multiple adult volunteers. Please register your children so that we can adequately staff the children’s area.
If I attend church, do I check my children out of Park City Kid’s?
If you would like to check your children out to sit with them during lunch, you certainly can. Otherwise, the rooted kid’s team will take over after the church service ends. This will minimize the tough drop-off/pick-up dynamics that kids and their parents often experience. The kids will eat together at the “kid’s table” and then they will head back to the children’s area for the duration of the programming.
What if I can’t make this semester work? Will you offer Rooted again?
The 2022 fall launch of Rooted is our pilot season. We plan to offer additional Rooted sessions multiple times each year. Our desire would be to offer Alpha groups (for people exploring Christianity) and Rooted Groups (for people looking to take next steps) multiple semesters each year. Stay tuned for the launch of our next season of Rooted.
